Privacy and your data
The calculators run in your browser, and the numbers you type into them are never sent to a server.
Calculators stay in your browser
Every calculator on this site runs in your browser, so the position size, entry price or margin figure you enter is never sent to a server and never stored by us. The arithmetic happens on your device and the result disappears when you close the tab.
That design is deliberate. A margin calculation for a gold position can reveal how much you trade and how much you hold, and there is no editorial reason for this desk to see it.
Third parties that may see a request from your browser
The third parties that may receive a request from your browser are limited to the hosting provider that serves this site's pages, the analytics provider if you accept optional cookies, and the broker whose link you click. The hosting provider processes standard server logs, which may include your IP address, browser type, and the page requested, for the purpose of delivering the site and maintaining security. Those logs are not used by this site to identify individuals. The analytics provider, when enabled, receives a visit count and page path, not your calculator inputs.
The broker, FxPro, receives a request only when you click a link to its site, and from that point its own privacy policy and cookie practices apply. This site does not embed third-party widgets, social media buttons, or advertising networks that would load content from other domains without your action. There are no third-party fonts or scripts that phone home on page load beyond the hosting and optional analytics described. If you decline optional cookies, the only third party that sees a request is the hosting provider delivering the page.
No third party receives your name, email, PayID, bank transfer details, or any information you type into a calculator. The site does not sell, rent, or share data with data brokers. The analytics provider is configured not to receive full IP addresses and does not set cross-site identifiers. If you follow a broker link, the broker may set its own cookies, and you should read its privacy policy before creating an account. The regulatory caveat for Australian readers is that FxPro does not hold an ASIC licence, so you deal with an offshore entity.
Traffic counts and local storage
We keep only aggregate traffic counts, such as how many times a page was opened, and we do not use them to build a profile of an individual reader. There is no account on this site and no login to tie a visit to a person.
Local storage in your browser holds your own preferences, such as a currency or display choice, and it stays on your device. Clearing your browser data removes it, and nothing is lost on our side because we never had a copy.
Affiliate links and how clicks are counted
Some links to FxPro on this site are affiliate links, which means that if you follow one and later open an account, the site may receive a payment from the broker. This does not change what you pay, does not affect the spread or commission you are charged, and does not give us access to your trading account or personal data. The link itself may carry a tracking parameter so the broker can attribute the referral, but that parameter contains no information about you beyond the fact that a click came from this site.
Affiliate tracking works by placing a cookie set by the broker's domain when you click through, not by this site. That cookie is governed by the broker's own privacy policy, and its lifetime depends on the broker's settings. This site does not receive your name, email, account number, or trading history from the broker. We do not run our own affiliate-tracking cookie, and we do not pass any calculator input or local-storage value to the broker. The only data that leaves this site on a click is the standard request your browser makes to the broker's page.
The site does not use affiliate links to rank brokers or to hide costs. Any mention of FxPro is accompanied by the regulatory caveat that FxPro is licensed by the FCA (UK) and CySEC, does not hold an ASIC licence, and serves Australian residents through an offshore entity. You should check that status before funding. If you prefer not to be tracked, you can open the broker's site directly in a new tab rather than clicking the link here; the information on this site remains the same either way.
Brokers set their own cookies
When you follow a link to a broker, that broker sets its own cookies under its own privacy policy, and those cookies are outside our control. The broker is the party you deal with from that point, including for any data you give it during an application.
Read the broker's policy before you fund an account, particularly where the entity is offshore. FxPro is licensed by the FCA (UK) and CySEC. It does not hold an ASIC licence, so Australian residents deal with an offshore entity — check this before funding.
Retention periods and the actions that delete stored data
The consent cookie and the calculator preference entry are kept until you clear your browser storage or until they reach their own expiry, which depends on the lifetime set for each item and on your browser's settings. The site does not impose a fixed retention period beyond those cookie lifetimes because it does not store the data on a server. Clearing site data, using a private browsing window, or resetting your browser removes the entries immediately. There is no backup copy held by this site.
Analytics data, if you accept optional cookies, is retained by the analytics provider for a period set in its configuration, and that period depends on the provider's policy rather than on this site. The analytics data is aggregated and does not identify you, so it cannot be tied back to your browser after the cookie expires. Declining optional cookies means no analytics data is created at all. The hosting provider's server logs are retained for a short operational period that depends on the provider's standard policy, after which they are rotated or deleted.
You can delete everything this site stores by using your browser's clear browsing data function and selecting cookies and site data for this domain. On mobile browsers, the same option appears under privacy or site settings. If you use a shared device, clearing site data also removes the consent flag, so the next user will see the banner. No action on this site is required to delete data, because the site has no delete-account process and no server-side store to erase.
Cookies used here and the job each kind performs
This site uses three kinds of cookies or local-storage entries: a consent cookie that records whether you accepted or declined optional cookies, a preference entry that remembers your calculator inputs, and, only if you accept, an analytics cookie that counts page visits in aggregate. The consent cookie is strictly necessary for the banner to function and cannot be turned off through the site. The preference entry is stored locally and is not sent to any server. The analytics cookie is optional and is set only after you click accept.
The consent cookie typically expires after a set period that depends on your browser settings and the cookie's own lifetime; it does not identify you and contains no personal data beyond your choice. The preference entry persists until you clear your browser storage or until the site updates its calculator format, which may reset stored values. The analytics cookie, when accepted, helps count visits and see which pages are used, but it is configured not to collect your IP address in full or any cross-site identifier. Declining optional cookies leaves the calculators fully functional.
No cookie on this site is used to serve you targeted advertising, to track you across other websites, or to sell data to third parties. The site does not use flash cookies, fingerprinting scripts, or hidden pixels beyond the analytics tag described. If you block all cookies through your browser, the consent banner may reappear each visit, but no calculator will stop working. You can delete the consent and preference entries at any time via your browser's clear-storage option, and the site will treat you as a new visitor on the next page load.
Your rights over stored data and the steps to exercise them
You have the right to access, correct, or delete any data this site stores about you, and in practice that means clearing the consent and preference entries in your browser. Because the site does not hold a server-side profile, there is no account to log into and no database record to request. To exercise deletion, open your browser settings, find the site data or cookies section for this domain, and remove the entries. The site will then treat you as a new visitor, and the consent banner will reappear.
You also have the right to object to optional analytics by declining the consent banner or by changing your choice later through the same banner if it is available. Declining does not reduce access to any calculator or content. If you have already accepted and want to withdraw, clear the consent cookie and reload the page; the banner will offer the choice again. There is no penalty for declining, and the site does not use a dark pattern to push acceptance.
For rights that relate to the broker, such as access to an account application or trading records, you must contact FxPro directly, because this site never receives that data. For rights relating to the hosting provider's server logs, you can contact the site operator using the contact details published on the site, and we will direct the request appropriately. Australian readers should note that FxPro is licensed by the FCA (UK) and CySEC and does not hold an ASIC licence, so broker-related privacy requests go to an offshore entity.
What this site stores on your device, and what it never asks for
This site stores only two things on your device: a small local-storage flag that remembers your cookie choice, and, if you use the calculators, the last entered values so the page reloads with your numbers. It does not ask for your name, email, phone, tax file number, bank details, or any account credentials. There is no login, no user profile, and no form that submits personal information to a server. Anything you type into a calculator stays in the browser tab and is never transmitted to us.
The site does not store your IP address, precise location, or any identifier that could link a calculator session to you personally. It does not set first-party advertising cookies, and it does not build a profile of your trading interests. The only persistent item is the consent flag, which exists so the banner does not reappear on every page. If you clear your browser storage, that flag is removed and the banner will show again on your next visit. No data is written to a server-side database about you.
What the site never stores includes passwords, broker account numbers, PayID identifiers, bank transfer references, or any document you might upload elsewhere. It does not store the outcome of a margin calculation beyond the current browser session. The reference price shown on the gold pages is a static example, not a live feed tied to your activity. In short, the site is built to work without knowing who you are, and it does not attempt to change that by collecting background information.
